Question: could the Ruth/Naomi story be related to the Elijah/Elisha story, specifically when Elijah gives Elisha a “double portion of [his] spirit?” (2 Kings 2:9)
To give a “double portion” sounds like Elijah (gentile Church) is giving Elisha (the Jews/Israel) his own spirit too (in order to give a “double portion” he has to give up his own portion?)….much like Ruth gave up her own child for Naomi’s sake.
Not sure where to go with this though; just thinking out loud.
pastor you mentioned about the NIV bible being an edited version of the bible and went on to reference rev 22:18-19 about that.
but i think john was talking about his book (revelation)as the bible had not been assembled at that time.
